Dear Joe,

Thanks for taking the VIGILANT under your wing on such short notice. As you will certainly learn, there is a tremendous amount of work needed on this boat to bring her up to acceptable levels of reliability and safety.

You should find in the owner an attentive and quick-to-learn person who wishes simply to have a proper boat. His experiences over the last months, however, have embittered him to the level of craftsmanship and competence available in the industry. Sadly enough, he has had cause.

So I am pleased his boat is with you and trust that in your good hands you will not only do the right thing by the VIGILANT but also that you will develop another firmly tenured client for the yard.

I hope to see you guys again soon. Meanwhile, best regards to your father and the rest of the crew.
